The busybodies at Novare Group are tossing their hats in the race to build nearly 3,000 proposed apartments across Buckhead and Brookhaven. Novare, Batson-Cook Development Company and Ackerman & Co. are planning a 26-story tower called "SkyHouse Buckhead" on a site off Peachtree Road behind Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. Before you decry this project as a yawn-worthy replica of SkyHouse Midtown — or Novare's other Midtown development, the under-construction 100 6th Street — consider the glassy Buckhead edifice would be three stories taller, with a more angular crown! For years, city dwellers have pined for an injection of residents (read: life) into business centers like Buckhead and Midtown. With the rents these projects could command, it's safe to assume tenants would be generally well-educated or adept at illegal activity. What say you, current Buckhead denizens?
