In an unsurprising turn of events, the Atlanta City Council has voted to rename Spring Street for purveyor of buffalo burgers and all-around mogul Ted Turner. While this might be a nice homage to a man who helped put present-day Atlanta on the map, the renaming of another central city artery has sparked a firestorm of people saying, basically, "Enough is enough!" Georgia has a pretty succinct policy for renaming streets, but a few changes lately have done a bit more than just flout the recommendations. The argument goes that, in addition to pushing the bounds of modern kerning, renaming streets obnoxiously long things makes life hard on some businesses and emergency workers. But screw logic. In honor of the most recent street-name kerfuffle, here's a map of some of the longest street names in Atlanta.
