Atlanta Falcons fans could one day walk to the new stadium's doorstep via a futuristic, serpentine bridge that wouldn't look out of place at Epcot Center. City officials released new renderings this week of a bridge structure for pedestrians that would span from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, over Northside Drive to Vine City's at-grade MARTA station. Judging by renderings, the main structure would extend 105 feet and incorporate a modernistic tunnel, bookended by two 400-foot, curlicue foot ramps. "The bridge is one component of a larger vision to leverage the location of the stadium to rail transit and create a more pedestrian-friendly environment between Westside communities and the Georgia World Congress Center," reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Builders interested in the project have until Oct. 30 to submit proposals.
