In a mildly shocking revelation, MARTA pulls in more riders per station than the subway systems in Chicago, Baltimore and Philadelphia, according to a newly released infographic. Part of a larger study compiled by Numbers Box, the graph is just one interesting, color-coded morsel that shows how Atlanta lacks the recommended density around stations to support a rail system, but manages to fall in the middle of the road for boarding per station and city subsidies per ride. With maps, graphs and charts, the study shows just how MARTA stacks up against other heavy-rail transit systems throughout the U.S.
