As the dust still settles around Renee Glover's exit from the Atlanta Housing Authority, Atlanta Business Chronicle uber-columnist Maria Saporta provides details on Glover's relationship (or lack thereof) with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. The Mayor's displeasure over Glover being awarded a new 5 year, $1.5 million contract in June 2010 without his input seems to have been the beginning of the end. Things did not improve when the Mayor's office named its own members to the Board of the Atlanta Housing Authority and they began to get a look at how Glover ran the organization. Glover was nationally-acclaimed for her work at the AHA and has some very vocal support from boldfaced Atlanta names, but it would all seem for naught without the mayor's support.
