Fulton County Follies (Tax Edition)

What if you got your property tax bill and found that your assessment was set at double the price you paid for your house? Maybe funny in an optimistic way in 2006, but it's most definitely un-funny in 2011. And illegal, thanks to a state law designed to protect homeowners from greedy, cash-strapped or incompetent county governments. Fulton County has found itself on the wrong side of this issue, and its scrambling to fix the errors it has found. But it's speculated they've only discovered the tip of the iceberg.
