A Bad Week for Atlanta Landmarks

New, 1 comment

Economic reality struck iconic Atlanta real estate for a second time in as many days today, with word that the proprietors of the beloved Plaza Theater on Ponce are seeking to bring in a new owner. Seems that the big movie studios are no longer trafficking in old school film prints of movies...this newfangled "digital" thing seems to be taking over. The current owners can't afford to convert to digital, and have put out the call for a new owner with deeper pockets to step in and save Atlanta's oldest cinema. Atlanta would do well to have a Paul Allen (aka one of the guys that founded Microsoft) in town right about now. [Creative Loafing]
