Cobb County Gets Green?!??

While we usually associate Cobb County with calls to disband the Department of Energy and stubborn pride in solo, hour-long commutes in an SUV, the City of Smyrna has proven us wrong. With a grant from the DOE via the 2009 stimulus (another oft-reviled government program), Smyrna is converting an old Public Works Department building into a biodiesel production facility, where old cooking oil will be converted into biodiesel fuel for city vehicles. First MAGLEV, now this? Might Cobb be Atlanta's closet hippie community? Marietta High School students are certainly doing their part. [Marietta Daily Journal]
