State Helping Breathe Life Into Downtown

Atlanta's downtown office market has long lagged its shinier rivals in Midtown and Buckhead, but the State of Georgia is making a move to reverse the trend. It appears that by committing to move state jobs into the 250 Piedmont office tower vacated by Suntrust in 2009, a new owner for the struggling building is ready to step in and give the building some much needed renovations. The news follows other positive developments in the effort to revive Atlanta's downtown core, led by, among others, Central Atlanta Progress. [Atlanta Business Chronicle]
