The long, strange odyssey of Waleed “Lee” Jaraysi’s dream of a wedding hall in Marietta is about to end with the bulldozer. As the saga approaches its seventh year (the original building permits were issued in 2005), all of Jaraysi's legal remedies have been exhausted, and though he has brought the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee into the fray, it appears the half-built building will be razed pretty soon. In an ostensibly unrelated note, Mr. Jaraysi is the owner of a house recently discovered to house a marijuana growing operation. Though he wasn't charged, we can't imagine this helped his cause with Cobb County. [Marietta Daily Journal]
