An Expert's Critique of the I-85 HOT Lanes

It isn't just angry commuters who take issue with the toll lanes on I-85 and their future ilk, transportation policy experts think they're a lousy solution to the problem they purport to solve. Logic would hold that people frustrated by the increased congestion in other lanes who cannot afford the "high speed" toll lanes would find other ways to get around. One problem, though: there's a paucity of public transit options in Atlanta's outer ring to trade one's car in for. Unless, of course, T-SPLOST is passed and Atlanta's transportation infrastructure is upgraded. We're just sayin'. [Saporta Report]
