In Defense of Atlantic Station

A stalwart of Atlanta Real Estate gives a unique perspective on what ails Atlantic Station. To his point, retail has become the scapegoat cause of the project's failure to fulfill its much-ballyhooed potential. The reality is the office demand doesn't exist to fill those massive building pad holes that line 17th Street. We may be glass-half-full types, but Atlantic Station may deserve some time. A couple more full office towers, a few years for the sidewalk shade trees to mature and some grit to settle in and grind off the Disney-landish feel of the project and you just might have an authentic urban experience.
