ROUND 1: Sandy Springs versus East Lake
Today we pit the gilded suburb of Sandy Springs against the historic East Lake neighborhood. Sandy Springs is still a-glow with its newly-minted cityhood and known for its rolling hills of forest near the Chattahoochee River. In addition to neighborhoods of well-maintained 1970's Chatham ranch homes filled with families, Sandy Springs also boasts some of Atlanta's largest and most expensive homes. While East Lake has some grittier sections, it's in-town and proximate to both the city and east side neighborhoods like Candler Park and Decatur, and anchored by the prestigious East Lake Golf Club and a collection of lovely bungalows from the early 20th century. So what do you like, Atlanta? Bucolic acres of forest and 10,000 square foot mansions inhabited by professional athletes? Or in-town soul and the home of both a PGA tournament and one of Atlanta's most encouraging community development and charter school stories? VOTE NOW!
