Alpharetta Adopts Decidedly Savannah-ish Take-Out Booze Policy

How many times have you heard someone extoll the virtues of being able to take an adult beverage "to-go" out of bars and restaurants in Savannah? Well now folks of legal drinking age can enjoy the same liberties in beautiful downtown Alpharetta. The Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association pushed the amendment to the city's alcohol ordinance through the Alpharetta City Council as part of their efforts to draw visitors to the mega-burb's sleepy downtown. Not sure we'll be flocking there for St. Patrick's Day quite yet, but hopefully this is a sign of things to come in Georgia's general attitude toward the wowie sauce.
