Habitat for Humanity: 6th Largest Home Builder in U.S.

As everyone searches for the silver lining around the dark clouds, "green shoots" in the nascent recovery or some sign that the housing industry hasn't entered a century of purgatory before decamping to the moon or Mars for an interplanetary building boom, we get some interesting news from Builder magazine via the AJC. Habitat for Humanity- yes, the non-profit Christian organization that builds houses for the needy- is now the 6th largest home builder in these United States. Which poses the question: are the altruistic volunteers that build Habitat homes stealing American construction jobs?
