With the state apparently having given up up on ever having enough money to solve its own transportation problems, the Georgia Department of Transportation is looking to the private sector for help. A contractor willing to bet on the success of toll lanes on I-75 and 575 (since they'll be paid partly with toll money collected) is being sought to invest as much as a billion dollars in building high speed toll lanes. Currently three European firms vying for the contract. [AJC]
