Mayor Reed and members of the City Council officially unveiled a street named in honor of Xernona Clayton yesterday at the intersection of Baker and Peachtree Streets. Ms. Clayton was a colleague of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the SCLC and later became the first Southern woman to host her own television show. She is in good company as the second woman to have an Atlanta street named after her- Margaret Mitchell was the first. [Atlanta Business Chronicle]
