Not sure how we missed this last week, but Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is talking up Underground Atlanta as a potential arts center full of theaters, galleries, businesses and creative spaces. This has come as welcome news to folks concerned about the most-discussed idea for the underused space to date, a casino. Curbed Atlanta readers may remember our feature on Elevate: Art Above Underground. Not difficult to imagine this as a successful permanent use of one of Atlanta's most historically significant areas.
