Easing the Pain of Foreclosure (A Bit)

While Georgia is well-known as a very bank-friendly foreclosure state, the state Senate may be coming in to offer consumers some relief from county and city fees that hit those who own homes foreclosed upon. A Georgia Senate committee has approved legislation carried over from last year that would cap the fees and penalties assessed on owners of foreclosed properties, and it may come up for a vote this week. While the caps won't be much of a salve for the pain of losing one's home, it seems they would reduce the insult to injury. [Georgia Public Broadcasting]
