New York Style & Substance, Walking Distance to Emory

Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing real estate listing from the many thousands of properties found in the Curbed Marketplace. Browsing the Marketplace and spot a property worthy of being featured? Send it to the tipline.

This listing caught us by surprise on a few levels. First, the price: seeing a 2/2.5 condo re-sale listed for $600k-plus and NOT located in one of the usual suspect high-rises in Midtown or Buckhead. Then, the appearance: we had to rub our eyes, because both the interiors and the exterior of the building reminded us of proper, established buildings of substance found in places like New York and San Francisco, but not Atlanta. But lo and behold, there's a brick (and what appears to be) limestone condominium building with 80 homes in Druid Hills on North Decatur near Emory called The Clifton, and this fine home inside of it is for sale. $625,000 gets you 2750 square feet of handsome, spacious living areas; slightly-aged but nonetheless luxury finishes and a lovely amenity package in walking distance to Emory and the surrounding area. If you like having professors and doctors as neighbors and prefer stone to glass, this one's for you.
