The ADA is Now "Invest Atlanta"

New, 2 comments

In the wake of two highly-publicized corporate re-locations giving Atlanta the pass and ever-increasing competition for jobs, the Atlanta Development Authority is re-branding itself. Invest Atlanta is an arm of the city's governing body and employs about 50 folks who do everything from courting foreign businesses and overseeing tax allocation districts to managing programs that offer home buyer down payment assistance and encourage more parks and green space (they're big supporters of the BeltLine, for instance). The move reflects Mayor Kasim Reed and other city and state officials' recognition that Atlanta and Georgia have serious work to do to reclaim status as a leading engine of economic growth in the Sun Belt and U.S. on the whole.
