An Update on A.P.S. Redistricting

After being besieged with input from concerned parents (to put it mildly), Atlanta Public Schools had made public its priorities in the redistricting currently in progress. That sending children to schools close to where they live and not splitting up neighborhoods are among the priorities will be a relief. Unfortunately, that goal is bound to conflict with solving the primary issue driving the need to redistrict: developing boundaries that will be good for 10 years based on student enrollment. On Monday, APS will post new maps reflecting community input on the original scenarios/options put forth. [Reporter Newspapers]
