Brookhaven City-hood Update

New, 1 comment

Though the process will involve prying it from Burrell Ellis' (assumably) warm and very much alive hands, the effort to make Brookhaven a city has begun its journey through the sausage maker. A Georgia House of Representatives committee is now considering a feasibility study by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at UGA as well as a presentation by Rep. Mike Jacobs, who introduced the legislation. City of Brookhaven boosters are drawing many comparisons to the successful city-hood efforts of Dunwoody and John's Creek. Opponents will likely latch on to these comparisons as well, but for, uh, different reasons. [Reporter Newspapers]
