We're making a couple of semi-related trips out to Sandy Springs today, beginning with this article on efforts by the city to create a true 'downtown.' The fact that Sandy Springs even considers itself to have a downtown was news to us a few weeks ago, but the CityWalk development and nearby non-profit-owned Heritage Green park do constitute the most logical "core" for Sandy Springs. So long as the Lake Forest/Sandy Springs Circle/Mt. Vernon trio's role as an escape from the hellish traffic at the intersection of Roswell Road and I-285 aren't affected, we're all for it.
