Someone Wants Out of This Cool Loft Pretty Bad

Perhaps no segment of Atlanta's residential housing market has been hit harder than the condominium market. And while the massive overbuilding that occurred does explain much of the problem, there are also instances that are more difficult to discern. Take this 1 bed, 1 bath condominium loft in the Arizona Lofts, which are located in an area that could be somewhat credibly claimed by Edgewood, Candler Park, Kirkwood and Lake Claire. It's 996 square feet of lofty, metal 18-foot ceilings, cement floors and general industrial cool. The living room opens onto a private outdoor space, and the development has saltwater pools, pet amenities and is situated in the middle of some of Atlanta's best neighborhoods for edgy eating and nightlife. Why then does it remain on the market at $104,900 nearly a month after a $55,000 price cut? (It was a rhetorical question). With rents starting to explode across the city, you'd there's someone out there that would love to own a spacious, cool spot like this for well under $1,000 per month.
