This week's top dish from Eater Atlanta, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
WESTSIDE—Hot new restaurant Cardamom Hill opened yesterday. There, Spice Route Supper Club chef Asha Gomez presents the cuisine of Kerala, India, with a daily-changing menu. The region's dishes are less common to U.S. palates, but proved to be a smash success for Gomez's supper club, leading to this brick-and-mortar incarnation.
HARTSFIELD-JACKSON INT’L —This week, the Atlanta City Council approved airport concessions contracts worth more than $3 billion over the next decade. Among the 150 food and beverage and retail sites cleared: The Varsity, Shane's Rib Shack, Willy's Mexicana Grill, Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint, and Ludacris' Chicken & Beer (the latter causing much media ruckus).
EVERYWHERE —Across the Eater universe, the Eater 38 Essential Restaurants were updated by city. Eater Atlanta’s update bid adieu to Leon's Full Service, Alon's Bakery, La Tavola, and Gu's Bistro, replacing them with Kyma, One Eared Stag, BLT Steak, and Miso Izakaya. The elite group of 38 is your answer and Eater’s to any question that begins, "Can you recommend a restaurant?"
