Deep Thoughts: Parking Lots

In a country generally long on parking lots, Sunbelt cities like Atlanta maintain an especially abundant supply, and as an excellent feature in yesterday's NYT points out, these oceans of pavement could be put to higher and better use. As arguably the most dominant single feature of our auto-centric landscape, surely parking lots deserve more in the way of design and budget allocation? And some of them could be put to completely different uses and benefit us all. [NYT]
