The City of Decatur has been eyeballing small areas around the city for annexation. Currently of particular interest are patches of land to the northwest, northeast, and southeast of the city limits, along with smaller parcels of land along Decatur's city borders. The city council is holding a meeting Monday evening to gauge public opinion on annexation plans as well as to take questions and answers.
Can't attend? The meeting will be livestreamed and available for public viewing. The City of Decatur's annexation page also contains a tax calculator as well as petitions to request annexation--or not. The deadline to petition your annexation status is November 6.
