Cousins Says Emory Point is on a Roll

Cousins Properties' sizable new project near Emory University is poised to forego the vacant storefront look popularized by the Recession. The company has announced five new tenants as the latest mix to local and national brands at its $100-million Emory Point development, WhatNowAtlanta reported. That means retail space is 82 percent spoken for, the company said.

Burgerfi, Bonefish Grill, Paradise Biryani Pointe, LOFT and Francesca's Collections will join the retail roster. Opening later this fall, Emory Point's first phase will consist of 443 luxury apartments and 80,000 square feet of retail near campus on Clifton Road. Openings for retailers and restaurants are planned to be staggered, beginning in November and carrying into next year.

We have a hunch: Word has spread that the Emory demographic includes dollar-scrounging undergrads and droves of CDC medical professionals. Just a hunch.
