While a certain industry and proximity to the Pacific Ocean gives it a touch more glamour, Atlanta has a soul mate and sibling in sprawl in Los Angeles. Like an evil parent pitting siblings against one another in competition, we suggest that Atlanta may take a page from L.A. and embrace this idea: taking old parking lots and turning them into parks. We've advocated ideas like this before, but didn't have an analog this brilliant to cite. So let's do this. Landscape architects, get to work...we'll try and find a wealthy patron to buy up one of Atlanta's primely-located parking lots and donate it to the cause. Nominations for locations?
