As the Georgia Legislature tries to salvage the poorly-considered first draft of the transportation bill, folks like Darin over at ATLUrbanist continue to think about the how's and why's of making the most of what we have at present (i.e. MARTA). Following along the same lines as our own Lee Kolber, he explores what MARTA could do to build ridership. And makes the excellent point that while billions of tax dollars are spent on roads without blinking, public transit is supposed to be completely self-sufficient...a rather phyrrhic philosophy, yes?
