As Georgia State burnishes its status as the largest institute of higher learning in the state's system by increasing its footprint downtown, now word comes of a new front on which the university is making strides. Seems a $20,000 study by an Atlanta-based consultant has decreed that the Panthers are well-positioned to move from AA up to Division I. The study recommends the Sun Belt Conference, but there's no official word yet on where they may be headed, but there's no doubt another DI team in the ATL would be a boon for the city in a number of ways (most importantly, economic).
