A couple of weeks ago, we discussed the reboot of the Prospect Park development in Alpharetta (now know as Avalon), and it looks like they’ve got a doozy for their first confirmed tenant. Ever heard of a little grocery chain called Whole Foods? WF was proposed for Prospect Park a few years back, so it’s pretty cool to see they’re still on board with Avalon’s new scaled back concept. It’s sure to be a strong selling point for attracting other tenants. Also, here’s the rundown on what happened at the first public info session on Avalon held by North American Properties. If the rental units “look nothing like apartments as Alpharetta knows them” and the fact that they’ll cost 30% more than market rate be enough to assuage the fears of the anti-apartment crowd? Does this mean the closure of the Harry’s Farmers Market (also WF-owned) a scant 3.6 miles away? Developing....
