The announcement that Jamestown, the Midtown Alliance and John Marshall Law School are collaborating on a new quarter-acre park at 18th and West Peachtree Street came a week ago, but we figured it was still worth talking about. As the Midtown Archive points out, a giant magnolia obscured a couple of rather dilapidated structures on the site. But their demolition will make way for a greenspace anchored by the great tree, to be accented by drought-tolerant foliage and casual outdoor furniture. By the time Jamestown and the Midtown Alliance are done with it, Midtown may actually resemble a vibrant urban environment.
