While we look forward to covering this in far greater detail as more information emerges, we did want to point you to some coverage on the debut of plans for the massive transportation hub project being built on the "Gulch" site downtown. Atlanta's own Cousins Properties is leading the team doing the massive redevelopment project for the Georgia Department of Transportation, which also includes local players like developer The Integral Group and architecture firm Cooper Carry. In addition to the myriad benefits of creating a passenger-focused transit hub on the scale of Atlanta's sizable cargo logistics capacities (courtesy of our rail infrastructure and the airport), it is hoped a new wave of transit-oriented development will flower surrounding the Gulch, bringing density and life to Atlanta's patchy downtown core.
