So we knew metro Atlanta's housing market was the pits, but we weren't ready to hear that it's now the most depressed in the nation. Where are our smelling salts?! New S&P data shows our housing market as by far the worst performer, beating out Las Vegas by a healthy (sickly?) margin. In fact, we had the only double-digit negative return on the entire list. Even Phoenix and Detroit have left us in the dust. Let's see: rampant overbuilding, a plethora of undesirable empty lots, and a financial situation that's been muddled by the most bank failures of any state.
