A New Framework for Roswell Growth

New, 2 comments

While some of the arcane detail will be lost on those that don't deal with zoning on a day-to-day basis, Roswell's City Council voted to adopt a progressive new ordinance dictating future development of the city. Whereas traditional zoning codes control development based on the use of a proposed building, Roswell has adopted a "hybrid form-based" code that focuses more on appearance. Proponents are thrilled and see this as a way for Roswell to maintain its charm while adopting a more forward-thinking approach, opponents of the change fear the unknown- namely apartments. What is it about North Fulton county and this fear of apartments? Hasn't anyone heard that we've probably lost a generation of home buyers thanks to the excesses of the last bubble? [Roswell Patch]
