The BeltLine Can Help You Beat the Heat

As the BeltLine team works on the gargantuan project of building the "Emerald Necklace," substantive additions to Atlanta's park life are appearing with regularity. And while parks are generally pretty wonderful in-and-of themselves, as everyone knows, Atlanta's climate can make enjoying them pretty difficult in the summer. Solution: splash pads, those installations of in-ground water sprayers that so delight children in the summer. Well, we're here to tell you that they work just fine in cooling off adults, too. And Perkerson Park in the Capitol View neighborhood is the latest to receive one, courtesy of your Atlanta BeltLine. There's a big grand opening this weekend replete with Italian ices and a jazz festival...there are worse ways to spend a Sunday. [beltline.org]
