As is the case anywhere, the housing market in Atlanta is loaded with nuances in product and sub-market. Folks ready to pony-up in Buckhead might not be caught dead in Morningside, and to devotees of deep in-town 'hoods like Inman Park anything north of 10th Street might as well be the suburbs. One thing all of these folks may agree on, however, is that asking $655,000 for a house with just 3 bedrooms is a dicey proposition. Which is not to say the owners of this ranch-y house on a very desirable lot on a classic Buckhead street are totally off-base. The place is nearly 3,000 square feet, and it's been updated with what appears to be reasonably solid quality and style. And one could easily do an addition that adds a bedroom and a bath and be in at less than a similar ready-to-inhabit 4/3 would cost them. But that requires effort and imagination. And that means a seller is likely in for some serious negotiation on price.
