If there seems to be a dearth of real estate people in town at the moment (well, retail-focused ones, anyway), it may be because they're all in Las Vegas at the International Council of Shopping Centers ReCon event. Among the attendees at the annual retail confab are attorneys from Hartman Simons, the Atlanta law firm counts retail among its real estate specialties. Seems H-S is seeing a huge increase in retail activity these days (compared to the last couple of years, anyway...2006 it ain't), with most of the action clustered at the high and low ends of the spectrum. If you're a fan of Target or Dollar General, expect more locations to scratch your itch. [citybiz Real Estate]
