Mid-Century('ish) in Morningside

New, 1 comment

When we came upon this listing in Morningside, in addition to warm feelings evoked by memories of the Brady Bunch, we were intrigued to see a mid-century modern specimen in a prime Morningside location. Then we went inside (virtually). While we don't profess to be experts in mid-century modern architecture and design, we do assume the style reflects an ethos rooted in the 50's and 60's (hence the "mid-century" part). And the interiors of this place seem to be a mishmash of the 60's, 70's, 80's and maybe even the 90's. Which is not to say there isn't potential. But as the broker babble suggests, that potential may lie primarily in the half-acre of dirt in the Atlanta 'hood perhaps least hit by the housing slump. We'd not be surprised if someone was happy to pay in the mid-$500's, tear this thing down and build a shiny new house to match others on this, "quiet cul-de-sac w/ $1.5 million+ homes." Whether you plan to live in it or not, the home's 4 beds and 3 baths (dirt included) are currently listed for $599,900.
