An Updated Penthouse in the Mayfair in Midtown

While the residential components of Atlanta's skyline are generally unremarkable, the neoclassical English architecture of the Mayfair Tower brings a healthy dose of class and significance to Midtown. Indeed, viewed from Piedmont Park, one could perhaps be forgiven for making a strained analogy between it and those residential buildings that create shadows over Central Park in New York. A 2 bedroom, 2 bath penthouse in the Mayfair (according to this article, the fastest-selling Atlanta condominium project of all time) has recently come to market, and in addition to grand views of the park and downtown, the seller claims to have put some serious money into a renovation (from the looks of it, most of it went into the kitchen). We'd have to imagine the market for condos $500k and above is pretty tough, especially with newer, shinier projects cutting big deals on inventory left over from 2009. But it's tough to argue against the location and pedigree of the Mayfair. $559,900.
