This restored Craftsman in Decatur scratched many itches when we encountered it. It's located in a great neighborhood, its spaces are large and outfitted with modern comforts, the 1920's character has been maintained and there's a generally clean, uncluttered feel to the whole place. And for the first time in recent memory, reading the broker babble actually increased the home's appeal rather than the other way around. The place just seems like a big winner all the way around: 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, a lovely outdoor area in the rear and a great porch upfront and "(t)oo many upgrades." The list price of $639,000 seems like a bargain, but with square footage data unavailable, perhaps this is the home's achillies heel. Either way, worth a look.
