Harvard on Housing

A new study from Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies will please real estate data junkies and appreciators of fine academic writing alike. Produced by Harvard's Graduate School of Design and the Kennedy School, the 2012 report hits many of the same notes as the thousands of other housing reports out there- the single family for-sale market is still in tatters but showing signs of recovery, the rental market is tight as a drum, etc. But as one would expect of a Harvard publication, the exquisitely-researched report proceeds to dig deep into historical, demographic and socio-economic data to paint an extremely comprehensive picture of the state of housing. Probably not a bad one to print out and keep in the files. [Harvard University]
