Our apologies to those disinterested in transportation issues- we're going big on T-SPLOST today. Lost amid some of the more extreme rhetoric and millions of dollars in ad buys that the campaign is bringing to Atlanta's air waves are facets of the metro area's existing transportation infrastructure with fates tied to the vote. One such example: the GRTA Express bus, which in addition to reducing traffic on the Downtown Connector exit ramps by 10% at rush hour, is a generally shining example of how effective public transit programs can transcend mere people-moving. A worthy read. [Atlanta Five Points]
