For all of Georgia's housing woes and incessant appearances on lists documenting them, the Peach State is not listed among the Top 10 states to get the best deals on foreclosures. This could be viewed as either good or bad news. This list ranking foreclosure savings was determined by comparing average sales prices against foreclosure sales prices. So viewed one way, Georgia's absence indicates that the spread between our sales prices and foreclosure sales prices is not particularly wide, which is bad. Or maybe it's good. What is definitely not good news: in May 2012, 1 in every 300 residences in Georgia received a foreclosure notice, which puts us in league with California and Illinois.
