The All-You-Can-Eat Buffet as Redevelopment Catalyst?

Given the culinary renaissance that has flowered in Decatur over the last several years, news of the arrival of an affordable buffet concept (Golden Corral) on an out parcel of the North Dekalb Mall property wouldn't seem cause for celebration. But our friends over at Decatur Metro and a large contingent of Commenters see hints of a comeback in a report from Tomorrow's News Today- that tireless chronicler of all things retail in Atlanta- announcing the G.C.'s arrival and holding out hope that a Costco may also arrive in the vicinity of the moribund mall on Lawrenceville Highway. Though it's still in the early stages, could Selig's massive, Walmart-anchored redevelopment of Suburban Plaza just down the road presage the arrival of more new, big box retailers and a general revitalization of the North Decatur commercial corridor?
