Sandy Springs Gets in the Park 'n' Public Art Game

Perhaps inspired by the bonanza of parks and public art The BeltLine is bringing to the City of Atlanta, the benevolence of an arts nonprofit is bringing the proud, privatized City of Sandy Springs its own new park studded with large, interesting sculptures. The already ambitious $14 million Abernathy Greenway Linear Park being built by the City of Sandy Springs with a combination of city, state and federal funds (and in concert with GDOT) got what will be a signature feature from Art Sandy Springs in the Playable Art Park. As detailed in the piece from Reporter Newspapers, work has begun on the first of six sculptures that should be open for kids to climb on this fall.
