Modern in Morningside Invokes Munich or Milan

Though the design of this 'white borg cube' in Morningside will be derided by some, its location, attention to detail and relative youth (built in 2007) make it an interesting specimen to examine on a Monday. Obviously, fans of modern, 'Stylish European Design' can be found in greater numbers in, well, Europe. But we'd wager that even the most militant traditionalist could get quite comfortable in this 4 bed, 4.5 bath house and its 3708 square feet of nicely-proportioned living space. While the hard lines and exposed steel do bring the cool, the dark wood floors are a balancing organic element, and the exquisitely-appointed kitchen and baths could go a long way toward making the day-to-day tasks of hygiene and sustenance pleasurable. Why the listing photos do not include the master bedroom's private roof deck (with its touted views of the city) is a mystery. $1,295,000.
