On the State of Commercial Real Estate

It's been a while since we checked in on the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Real Talk real estate blog, where some of the city's real estate leaders opine on the state of Atlanta's favorite business. The leader of a local investment/development shop just returned from a real estate investors' conference in Israel, and offers a glimpse into the views of global real estate investors. The good news: the U.S. is still viewed as the safest place in the world to invest in real estate. The potentially bad news: by this investor's reckoning, the rather frothy multifamily space (covered here exhaustively) may be getting a bit too frothy by virtue of all of the cheap debt available for multifamily deals from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Let's see by a show of hands: is apartment development in Atlanta overheated? [ATL Biz Chron Real Talk]
